Sierra Nevada Mountain Photos
The massive mammoth peaks, spectacular landscapes, and magnificent skyline are Sierra Nevada’s impressive features. The peaks range in height from 11,000 ft to 14,494 ft – Mt. Whitney. The Sierra Nevada’s are a huge picturesque playground. Everywhere is beautiful and recreation is abundant. Mammoth Lakes and Lake Tahoe are popular destinations for skiing in the wintertime. The mountains average 400” of snow per year and usually open from November through July.
In the summertime, the mountains open up to hiking and mountain biking. Hiking is popular in the Sierra’s. A person can walk for months and never reach the end as the mountain range is over 400 miles long and 40-80 miles wide. Fall is not prime time in the Sierras but the fall leaves do offer a spectacular colorful showing. Whatever time of year you choose to visit the Sierra Nevada mountains there are many opportunities for stunning nature photos.
Some of my favorite Sierra Nevada Mountain Photos:
“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.”
